Outlets of Mississippi already in high gear

posted on November 1, 2013

As the Nov. 14 opening day at the 300,000 sf Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl drew closer, the center’s developer, Spectrum Capital, and its 80-plus tenants were in high gear with finishing touches, signing new leases and hiring store personnel.

Forever 21 and Torrid were the latest to join the line-up that includes Saks Off Fifth, Coach Factory Store, Micheal Kors, Cole Haan, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Levi’s Outlet, Chico’s Outlet, White House | Black Market Outlets, Adidas Outlet and Nike Factory Store.

The center was even sponsoring a seminar to help local retail candidates improve their interviewing skills before the early October job fair. Industry veteran Mark Millman or Millman Search Group organized the job fair and led the seminar. Some of the topics he covered with the job prospects included resume writing, dressing properly for the interview, how to answer employees’ questions and when to follow up with calls and thank you notes.

“I have to hand it to Spectrum Capital for sponsoring the seminar,” Millman said. “They clearly understand the importance of hiring the right people.”
