A major department store has signed on to anchor a planned outlet mall in Pearl, in what officials say will be the largest outlet destination in the state.

Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH will open a 20,000 square foot store in the Outlets of Bloomfield, which is set to open in late 2013, according to a press release from the development’s media partners.

The Bloomfield center is a 325,000 square foot development planned for the western side of Pearl’s Trustmark Park area, meaning travelers coming from U.S. 80 or I-20 will be greeted by an array of stores when entering the city.

“Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH is a key anchor in the outlet center industry and we are delighted to welcome the national brand to our tenant community,” said Jason Voyles, president of Spectrum Capital, a privately owned, diversified real estate firm currently developing the project. “We look forward to continuing our work to bring shoppers from throughout the Greater Jackson marketplace access to a compelling store roster that offers unbeatable savings, up to 65 percent off regular retail, every day.”

In addition to Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, The Outlets at Bloomfield will welcome the following brands to its merchant line-up:

  • Nike Factory Store (12,000 square feet)
  • J Crew (6,000 square feet)
  • Under Armour (6,000 square feet)
  • The Children’s Place (5,000 square feet)
  • Carter’s (4,000 square feet)
  • Hartstrings (4,000 square feet)
  • BCBG Max Azria (3,000 square feet)
  • Chico’s Outlet (3,000 square feet)
  • White House/Black Market (2,800 square feet)
  • Johnston & Murphy Factory Store (2,500 square feet)
  • Gymboree Outlet (2,200 square feet)
  • Kay Jewelers (1,800 square feet)
  • Perfume Collection (1,320 square feet)

“Leasing is certainly moving at a fast pace at The Outlets at Bloomfield,” said Mayor Brad Rogers in a press release. “In addition to attracting nationally-known retailers that shoppers love and want most, we are pleased Spectrum Capital is developing what will become our state’s largest outlet shopping destination which will create a significant number of permanent local jobs and draw thousands of consumers from throughout the region to the city of Pearl.”

Spectrum Capital plans to announce additional designer and name brands that will soon call The Outlets at Bloomfield home during a construction groundbreaking ceremony slated to take place later this year.
